Overdimension

1995 Resolution Nr. 1 from the Transport and Telecommunications Ministry, establishes that all vehicles that move within public routes, will not be allowed to surpass the following dimensions:

EXTERNAL MAXIMUM WIDTH (with or without cargo) Neither external rear-view mirrors nor their supporting devices are considered. 2,60 m MAXIMUM HEIGHT (with or without cargo) Over the floor level 4,12 m MAXIMUM LENGTH Considered between the front and rear extremes of the vehicle Truck 11,00 m Semi-trailer 14,40 m Trailer (connecting bar is not considered) 11,00 m Tractor-truck with semi-trailer 18,00 m Truck with trailer or another combination 20,00 m

On-time and specialized attention

Traffic law Nr.18,290 in its article Nr. 57, indicates that in exceptional cases and for INDIVISIBLE CARGOES, the Highway System Dept. depending from the Ministerio de Obras Públicas, will be able to authorize the traffic of over-dimensioned or over-weighed vehicles as per the established maximum parameters.
For this purpose, and in order to provide a daily better quality of service to our users, the Highway System Dept. arranged the allowance of licenses for over-dimensioned vehicle at the Region Province Offices.

Steps to follow to get the Over-dimension Permission

The user requests the authorization at the Highway System Dept. office of the Corresponding Province, filling in a form.
Personnel in charge verifies the indivisibility of the cargo.
User picks up the authorization form within a period no greater than 4 hours.
